Seems like two choices, slow down or use a smoke generator at least you would know where its and the direction it is going..

Have not tried the smoke thing yet. The last time I deployed my flaps it went straight down.... ha ha ha ha ... so now it is completely overhauled. I guess there will not be enough space for a smoke tank. Mabe fly slower is a better choice.

Yes the elevator seems to need to go up when the flaps go down......., too much flap and you can run out of elevator. Do check the build manuals RCjets USA and Digitroniks for throws and directions to be 100% sure.

Qte : from manual......
Control Throws These are good place to start. Feel free to ad more throw for more aerobatic capability after the first flight.
Aileron: 20mm up and down Elevator: 25mm up and down Rudders: 20mm right and left Flaps: 35 mm down
Some things to be aware of... You may want an up-elevator mix with flap application, as the nose pitches down. You may also want some additional up-elevator throw available with full flaps, as you may not have enough elevator to flare with full flaps. A "landing" mix will reduce the pilot workload. These settings, flap-to-elevator, will change if you move the CG back. You can also increase the rudder throw, but be sure the rudders do not contact the elevator at full throw.

Good advice, Dennis. I missed out the elevator mix and was flying low when I deployed the flaps. Luckly only plane damaged.
